Course Description

Introduction to the Religions of the Book: Judaism, Ancient Christianity, and Islam.  The student will acquire a basic understanding of each religion's sacred history, worlds of meaning and spiritual practices.    Community courses consist of lectures only.  Full Professional-Technical course includes assignments, papers, and presentations.  Available on-line. Hours 3.

The successful participant will:

2. REL 2 Demonstrate an understanding of the History of Judaism, Ancient Christianity, and Islam

3. REL 3 Demonstrate an understanding of the key words and Worlds of Meaning or Theory of the religions of the Book

4. REL 4 Demonstrate an understanding of the Way of Living Life of religions of the Book;

5. REL 5 Demonstrate an understanding of the sacred texts of the religions of the Book

6. REL 6 Demonstrate a capacity to learn from all religions while strengthening one’s own
