ESLCOMM012 Intermediate & Educational English as a Second Language - This course is designed for a foreign language speaker who would like to further English awareness in an educational setting.  Recommendations: Introductory ESL. Hours: 1/1.

 

English Protech (ENPT)

 

GEDPT020 General Education in Language Arts (GED-LA) - This class is designed to help the student pass the Language Arts portions of the GED test. The student will be able to interpret and analyze a variety of texts for the reading section and will practice effective writing in preparation for responding to the writing portion  Prerequisite: GEDPT010LA or instructor's permission. Hours: 2

 

ENPT101/2 ENGLISH COMPOSITION - The fundamental skills of reading and writing an essay. Specific attention to personal, descriptive, expository, and persuasive writing. Writing integrated; computer intensive. Prerequisite: appropriate placement. Hours: 3

 

ENPT201/2 RESEARCH WRITING - A continuation of EN101 with an emphasis on general research techniques with applications to various academic disciplines. An introduction to Copyright law.  Writing integrated; computer intensive. Prerequisite: A grade of 'C' or better in EN101 or satisfactory placement score.  Hours: 3

 

ENPT111/2 Communication for Entrepreneurs - This course is designed to provide the student with an understanding of the skills necessary to communicate with others and in groups. In addition, the course will prepare students to present material orally and visually. Hours: 3. Cross-listed with COMMPT111.

 

ENPT151/2 INTRODUCTION TO SPIRITUAL LITERATURE - An introduction to reading and understanding spiritual literature. Literary study as a method of thinking critically about historical and contemporary aspects of the human condition. Prerequisite: ENPT 101/2 or placement scores. Hours: 3

Each course is a non-accredited, Professional-Technical course offering practical job skills for which you will receive a Certificate of Completion, but not transcripted credit.
