ECON101 CONTEMPORARY ECONOMICS - Builds breadth of understanding with respect to current economic events, problems and issues in the nation and world. May not be used by Business Administration and Management majors to satisfy the General Education Distributive Component. Hours: 3

 

ECON102 PERSONAL ECONOMICS - This course is designed to provide students with basic skills in personal finance. Students will emerge from this class with hands-on competency in budgeting, checking account reconciliation, knowledge of types and uses of credit, and purposes and uses of insurances, skills of retirement planning, and personal documents such as wills, living wills and durable powers of attorney. Student must secure use of a calculator. Hours: 3

 

ECON201 PRINCIPLES AND THEORY OF MACROECONOMICS - Examines the problems of unemployment and inflation, the measurement of aggregate activity and other performance activity, and principles of Gross Domestic Product determination. The influence of monetary and fiscal policy are considered. Hours: 2

 

ECON202 PRINCIPLES AND THEORY OF MICROECONOMICS - Builds breadth of knowledge regarding the economic principles which govern the production, exchange, and pricing of goods, services and resources, and the distribution of incomes in competitive and non-competitive markets. Recommended for students who have completed high school algebra. Hours: 3
